July 21, 2026

We’re proud to highlight the attorneys at Ruggeri who deliver outstanding results for our clients.

As part of this ongoing series, we’re featuring members of our team, sharing their unique perspectives and what drives them forward, both personally and professionally.

Hear insights from Michael S. Batson:

What drew you to your current practice area? I enjoy investigating and solving complex problems, particularly when they involve novel issues with little or no guidance. Insurance coverage is my primary practice area and it consistently requires that level of deep analysis. Few professional feelings are better than resolving an issue for a client where there is no precedent.

How do you collaborate with clients to achieve the best outcomes in your practice? My top priorities with all our clients are to give them honest assessments and make sure they feel comfortable that we are addressing their needs and concerns. This requires working closely with clients throughout the life of a matter and maintaining constant communication concerning where their matter stands at any given time.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your practice?
Working and collaborating with my colleagues and clients. I am fortunate to work with amazing people, which serves the continuation of my growth as an attorney and a person. My colleagues and clients challenge me every day and the reward is a career and life of which I can be proud.

Where did you grow up, and what’s a local tradition or food you still love?
I grew up in Ft. Myers, Florida, which is close to gorgeous Gulf beaches and is the spring training home of the Boston Red Sox. Growing up in Southwest Florida fostered my love for the Red Sox and gave me a lasting appreciation for being outdoors and enjoying nature.
