Ruggeri Parks Weinberg LLP Welcomes Two New Attorneys to the Firm’s Washington D.C. Office

Ruggeri Parks Weinberg LLP is pleased to announce that Alexander E. Schmidt and Geoffrey N. Gottbrecht have joined the firm’s Washington D.C. office as associates.
Alex Schmidt focuses his practice in the areas of complex bankruptcy and insurance-related litigation, representing major insurance companies in federal and state courts across the country. Before joining Ruggeri, he served as an attorney in the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel, where he coordinated the U.S. government’s response in high-profile Chapter 11 bankruptcy cases. Alex is also currently an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center.
Geoff Gottbrecht focuses his practice in the areas of complex civil litigation, insurance coverage, and business restructuring and reorganization. He has advised clients in each stage of litigation, and his practice involves representing clients in high-profile actions and chapter 11 proceedings, including complex bankruptcy cases and mass tort matters. Prior to joining Ruggeri, Geoff worked as an associate for an international AmLaw20 firm, where he represented consumer product manufacturers, retailers, energy companies, financial institutions and health systems.
